SIGNING A RELEASE SAYING THAT YOU WILL NOT SUE A STUDIO IF THEY GIVE YOU COVID FROM A PROCEDURE IS NOT OK!
Current Kansas Body Art Rules State; “No Body Art Procedure (Tattoo or Piercing), may be performed that requires the removal of a protective mask.” SIGNING A RELEASE SAYING THAT YOU WILL NOT SUE A STUDIO IF THEY GIVE YOU COVID FROM A PROCEDURE IS NOT OK! Do not believe greedy Body Artists that tell you it is OK to be Tattooed or Pierced without a mask, that is not the truth. Also Studios that say that a “ONE MINUTE RULE” applies in removal of your mask to perform any procedure around the nose or mouth is also NOT the Truth. Signing a release not to sue does not protect you from their greed. It also does not prevent you from taking action if infected. Current Kansas Board of Cosmetology (licensing board for Body Art Studios), Covid-19 Guidelines State; “Consider discouraging children in the establishment and school. Although they are not considered high risk for complications due to COVID-19, they frequently touch surfaces.” In short Children Should Not Be In Studio During Crisis. Tattooing and Piercing Children under the age of 18 should not be done due to Moral, Ethical, Maturity, Emotional and Physical Concerns. However, during the Coronavirus Crisis the risk to your child increases greatly within a studio. Please reconsider before allowing risky procedures on your child.
