This gallery feature old school traditional
designs. Traditional art is the foundation of the American Tattoo Art and is
making a comeback with tattoo collectors worldwide. This is the The GYPSY's
roots in tattooing. He started his career doing traditional art when it was the
norm and other forms of American tattooing were still to be discovered.
This collector gets another piece added to his collection every year during the annual Sturgis Rally and Races. He is a great lover of traditional style tattoos and all his artwork reflects this. The next photo offers a closer look at the newly finished Tiger scene on his upper back.
Close-up of just completed Tiger scene from previous photo. There are approx. 12 different colors within the tattoo. The completed tattoo took 3 settings and 8 hours to complete. This collector is also a fine example of a community leader who is heavily tattooed.
Very large traditional stlye dragon sceane. Approx. 12 hours of work is involved with this tattoo. It was used to cover another design and is an original work by The GYPSY.
Great example of a rendering of a 1940's style flag and rose design.
These 2 tattoos are displayed upon the same collector. The cobra is a combination of 3 different designs and the bird is a rework of a 1950's style tattoo design.
This traditional style parrot is covering a very poorly done butterfly design.
American Patriotic symbols are the oldest form of american traditional designs.
Though I did not do the tattoos represented here I felt that they included inclusion in the Traditional Gallery. Grizz has been collecting since the 1940's and is a walking history book of the American tattoo art.
